Just a quick thank you to anyone who happened to stumble upon my page and stuck around long enough to find this blog. And even though I already know the only people who are actually going to read this are my mom and anyone she shows it to, I just wanted you to know how much I appreciate your support.
Forever Evergreen isn't the first book I've ever written but it the most special to me. I started writing it after my family moved out of my home state, and I was missing Northern California desperately. More specifically, I was missing the lake where I spent all the summers of my youth. So, since I couldn't just hop in the car and go there like I used to, I started writing about it, that's how Lake Evergreen was born-out of homesickness, and a longing for fresh mountain air and awe inspiring trees.
Thankfully, I married incredibly well and my husband knew what I needed. He knew I'd never find the happiness I was seeking in the flat, dry area of Texas where we lived. So, despite the fact that we'd just bought our dream house, he put it on the market. Then, he bought us a home in a small town (pop. 2,024) right around the corner from an enchanting lake in the Sierra Foothills. It's everything I've ever wanted. It made me fall even more in love with him which I didn't know was possible.
I now get to write in a place that truly inspires me, and I'm only two hours away from that wondrous lake that started it all, Lake Almanor.
If you ever find yourself visiting Lake Almanor, or the nearby town of Chester, take a look around, you'll find Evergreen in all the little details.
Again, thank you readers!
Until next time,
E. M. Langston
